Hey,

Tammy's question, especially the bit about merchandise, made me think about the following:

  • we have lots of international users
  • some items are not easily available in some countries (can't think of a simple example now...)

So what about creating a kind of swap-market, where people can post requests for small items (e.g. from the US) to be sent to an european country? Would there be a demand for that?

I'd be more interested in getting my hands on some Swiss chocolate! :)

Which chocolate do you have in mind? Maybe it's available here too, since we're neighbouring Switzerland ;) -- on a possibly related note, what is the current rule on sending foodstuffs via mail? Meat et al. is not allowed, afaik.

I wouldn't be opposed to something like that. Of course there are issues related to who pays postage, assuring people get reimbursed for the items purchased, and also making sure that the items meet safety standards of the receiving country.

Tammy that does sound like a good idea, maybe it could be something that you be developed, shipping/postage costs could be paid by the receiver, and if packages and its contents do not exceed a certain weight and value, seems like it could be quite feasible, of course adhering scrupulously to health and safety standard requirements.
