I have noticed that "Bounty" questions are not very abundant, is this because of user numbers, or because generally questions are answered swiftly. Is making a question into a "Bounty" question likely to give better answers on Moms4mom?

We don't support "Bounty" questions yet in OSQA, but we will in an upcoming version. I don't know how much incentive they really provide?

I find that the bounty feature in StackExchange leaves much to be desired. For instance, you can't post a bounty on a question right away. Second of all, the bounty must be awarded or end within 7 days. That's often not long enough for some kinds of questions. The feature ought to be more flexible.

I think the bounty system works on very high frequented sites like StackOverflow, to help older questions to bubble up and to provide some incentive to get more detailed answers.

I think I tried a bounty question on M4M, just because I was interested. It helped a bit, but it was not worth the minimum required rep.

I think (unless the number of questions increases dramatically) this system won't work as well for us. Maybe a better way would be to make unanswered questions more obvious to people that are not as familiar with SO/SU/...
